How does microneedling work?

Microneedling works by creating a controlled wound-healing response in the body. Through this process we encourage the body to stimulate cell-turnover, which in turn generates the growth of new collagen and elastin - the building blocks of healthy, youthful skin.

What happens during this process?

The process begins by creating tiny, controlled punctures (micro-channels) in the skin using fine, sterile needles. These micro-injuries tell the body to start the natural wound healing process, generating a chain reaction of cell turnover, collagen and elastin production.

While these new micro-channels are open (typically between 15 and 20 minutes), we take this opportunity to introduce our clinical actives into the skin. This allows us to not only deliver the right products at the right time, but also to introduce them to the specific layer of the skin at which they will be most effective.

What can I expect from a microneedling treatment?

Once we have completed a comprehensive consultation with you, our microneedling treatments commence with a deep cleanse of the skin, followed by application of a topical anaesthetic (clients can opt to skip this step, if they wish). We then proceed with the microneedling process, finishing with a relaxing and restorative mask and LED treatment.

Clients can expect to see results as early as a week after their treatment. With regular maintenance sessions, new collagen production can continue for up to 3 years.

What should I expect in terms of downtime?

Our microneedling treatments are minimally invasive - clients can expect to return to the office after their treatment if they wish!

At the end of every treatment we also provide a range of products to boost the healing process and assist with fast recovery.
